Report: FCA finally readying AWD Dodge Challenger
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is reportedly moving forward with plans to launch an all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger.
The company previewed such a model last year at SEMA, introducing the Challenger GT AWD concept (pictured) as a “one-of-a-kind, year-round muscle car.” The coupe also added a wide-body kit with flared fenders, shrouding 20-inch staggered wheels.
An Automotive News report now claims the GT AWD will debut in production form later this year.
The company is also said to be working on a new Hellcat flagship with wide-body styling, rumored to be called the Challenger ADR.
Both the AWD and ADR variants are expected to be built upon the current-generation Challenger platform. The next-generation model, built upon the Giorgio architecture and 500 pounds lighter, is said to be slated for 2018.
