No Matter The Value, This Family Will Never Sell Their 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T

Some things just aren’t for sale.

It’s one of the most famous American muscle cars of all time, and also one of the rarest. We’re referring to the 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T, powered by the 426 Hemi and mated to a four-speed manual. In fact, only 137 of these cars have this engine-transmission combo. But this particular one always has been and always will be a part of the Escalante family. Juan Escalante’s father bought the car new after seeing a similar one at the Detroit Auto Show. It was love at first sight. The car was later taken back to Venezuela where it remained for many years before its return to the US for restoration. Yes, the Escalante family is fully aware of the car’s value, but no monetary amount can be placed on what it means to the family, especially now that their patriarch is gone. It’s an American muscle car love story at its best.
