February sales: FCA, Ford, Honda post double-digit gains

February has brought mixed results for auto sales in the US market.

Taking advantage of an extra sales day for leap year, several automakers posted double-digit gains compared to the same month last year. Ford (up 20%), Honda (up 15%), Jeep (up 23%), Lincoln (up 30%) and Ram (up 27%) were among the strongest brands.

At the other end of the spectrum, Chrysler sales fell by 26% and VW was down 13% as several models remain affected by a sales halt. BMW was down by 11%, matching Infiniti’s loss for the month.
