Dodge Charger Recalled for Slipping Off Tire Jacks

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will supply the owners of about 441,578 Dodge Chargers with wheel chocks due to a faulty jack points.

Over time, the jack points on the bottom of these 2011 to 2016 Chargers can become deformed, causing the car to fall off the supplied jack. FCA says it is aware of three minor injuries related to this problem.

The cars are technically being recalled, though they won’t be fixed. Instead, FCA will supply wheel chocks which must be used when using the tire jack to lift one of the affected Chargers. Official instructions will be provided to inform owners how to use the chocks, which must be placed diagonally opposite to the wheel being changed.

Customers will be contacted and made aware of when they may obtain their wheel chocks supplied for free by their nearest dealer.

Customers with questions or concerns may call the FCA US Customer Care Center at 1-800-853-1403.
